Healing Circles at GMCC
Healing Circles were an essential part of GMCC’s pilot Drop-in Services program from 2022. In partnership with Conflict Resolution Center and restorative justice activist Raj Sethuraju, GMCC would host circles for primarily unhoused neighbors to share about their experiences & feelings and build community together.
As our Drop-in Services program grew, Healing Circles were shifted to become a separate program on Tuesday evenings, led by Raj, GMCC Donor & Relationship Manager Vanessa Harrison, GMCC Resource Navigator Lesia Dembley, and other wellbeing staff. We have partnered with many local restaurants to provide food for our participants, including Pham’s, Pizza Luce, Andy’s Garage, Wrecktangle Pizza, Naf Naf Grill, Baba’s, Jakeeno’s, Cafe Zupas, and Puralima Cantina.
Quotes & Testimonials
I’m definitely coming back and
bringing friends with me! The
conversation and support is
amazing. I’m super happy
to be here.
John joined our Healing Circles this past spring. He wanted to overcome addiction and be there for his family. He’s now several months sober, in a shelter, connected to a case manager, and actively supporting others by connecting them to Healing Circles and GMCC programs.
I love to meet new people, I need more of that in my life. I enjoy group meetings like this and I hope I can come back.
