GMCC Recovery Care
GMCC Recovery Care centers individuals in the Somali/East African community who are in recovery or actively dealing with substance use disorder (SUD). We have a team of Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (PRSs) to provide curated and culturally-specific support for individuals in various stages of treatment and recovery. PRSs work 1:1 with clients to connect them to the resources they need and lead weekly all-recovery meetings that are open to all community members. All recovery services are provided free of charge and without billing insurance.
GMCC partners with Access Healing Center (AHC), a culturally-specific faith-based 245G outpatient treatment center with housing. AHC addresses SUD and mental health conditions among Somalis, Muslims, and East Africans with evidence-based treatment, peer recovery, and culturally-specific aftercare.

Together, AHC and GMCC are:
- Building a supportive recovery community
- Reaching populations most impacted by SUD through weekly Drop-In Services (click to learn more)
- Building a culturally-specific Nar-anon modeled program for family members of individuals struggling with SUD
- Curating services and support for Somali mothers struggling with SUD
- Employing individuals with lived experience and cultivating them to become leaders & mentors in their community
